2026 KidWind Challenge Asia

Dear teachers and students,

The 7th KidWind Challenge in Asia is officially here! As the largest wind energy competition in Asia, we are thrilled to welcome talented minds from across the region to showcase their engineering skills and environmental passion. This grand event serves as a premier international platform, bringing together exceptional students from various Asian countries to compete, innovate, and build cross-cultural friendships through the shared language of science and sustainability.

This year's competition promises an unprecedented scale and level of excitement. Participants will have the unique opportunity to compete on the same stage with top-tier teams from across Asia, exchanging ideas and pushing the boundaries of renewable energy technology. Through hands-on turbine construction and aerodynamic testing, students will not only deepen their understanding of wind power but also develop critical teamwork and problem-solving skills essential for the global green energy transition.

To enhance the competition experience, deepen its educational roots, and align with international standards, this year's challenge introduces the following highlights:

1. Optimized divisions: Following the World Championship format, the former combined elementary/junior high division is split into separate Elementary and Junior High divisions, allowing students at each level to compete at a stage suited to their age.
2. New wind-energy knowledge challenge: The finals will add a staged online quiz; every division must complete a theory test (worth 10% of the total score) to strengthen the link between theoretical foundations and hands-on practice.
3. Cross-Cultural Exchange: Beyond the core competition, participating teams will engage in international networking events, allowing students and educators to share cultural insights and build lasting global connections.
