The KidWind World Challenge is the highest stage of the KidWind competition series. Held in the United States every May, it brings together top teams from across the U.S. and around the world to test their wind power design, engineering, and creativity head-to-head across multiple wind tunnels.
Taiwan's national delegation, organized by the Asia-Pacific Energy Science Education Association (AESEA), has competed since the 9th edition in 2024 — winning the Judges' Award and Blade Design Award on its very first expedition, capturing two world championships in 2025, and in 2026 seeing all five of its teams win, bringing home four world championships and three special awards. Taiwan has become one of the most watched forces at the World Challenge.
The road to the World Challenge begins at the KidWind Challenge in Asia — winning teams earn the right to represent their region on the world stage.
