2025 National High School Summer Science Camp Concludes Successfully, Driving a KidWind Green-Energy Wave

In collaboration with the ROC Military Academy, our association brought the 2025 National High School Summer Science Camp to a successful close on August 31, attracting nearly one hundred high school students from across Taiwan. Centered on the KidWind wind energy challenge and infused with green-energy education, the camp sparked students' interest in renewable energy while building hands-on and teamwork skills. Working in teams, students designed wind turbines, optimized power output, and showcased their creativity in wind-tunnel testing — and the thrill of successfully lighting a bulb filled them with enthusiasm for science.

Beyond KidWind, the camp featured a drone operation competition, a digital inquiry challenge, and a visit to the Whampoa academy history museum, blending technology with national defense education to broaden participants' horizons. An evening welcome party and talent show fostered connection, letting students make like-minded friends alongside their studies.

Together with Professor Hung Wei-ching, the association promotes the KidWind Challenge under the philosophy of "learning by doing, doing by learning," cultivating scientific literacy through hands-on practice. Since its introduction to Taiwan in 2019, KidWind has developed a well-established training model, selecting outstanding students for the international stage. Registration for the 2025 KidWind Challenge in Asia is now open (until 5:00 p.m. on September 12): each team consists of 4 students and 1 coach, entry is free, and cross-school teams are welcome. Top teams will represent Taiwan at the 2026 World Championship. We look forward to more teachers and students joining us in bringing fresh momentum to green-energy education!
