Creative Winds Rising! Results Announced for the 2025 KidWind Challenge in Asia Elementary & Junior High Finals

The finals and awards ceremony of the Elementary and Junior High Division of the 2025 KidWind Wind Energy Asia League took place on November 2 🗓️ at Chung-Cheng Hall, Gongguan Campus of National Taiwan Normal University 📍, and concluded in grand style!

This year's flagship event drew nearly fifty teams 🧑‍🤝‍🧑. Students brought their carefully hand-built wind turbine models 💨 into the wind tunnel for rigorous performance testing — a contest not only of energy-conversion efficiency, but a comprehensive test of their engineering design ingenuity and scientific inquiry skills.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Chou Chien-heng, Chairman of AESEA (Asia-Pacific Energy and Science Education Association), noted that the KidWind League has grown into Asia's largest student wind power competition, founded on the belief that students should learn teamwork 🤝 through competition and gain invaluable growth experiences along the way. International guests, including KidWind representative Kathy Jackson from the United States, spoke highly of the creativity and technical skill displayed by Taiwanese students 👍, praising the event for successfully fostering cross-border exchange in science education 🌍.

This year's competition showcased the remarkable progress Taiwan's elementary and junior high students have made in wind turbine knowledge over the past seven years 📈, and it was arguably the most demanding edition yet 🔥. Beyond designing high-performance turbines, students had to demonstrate outstanding teamwork and time management: queuing for measurements at two wind tunnels while shuttling to the judging room for oral evaluations. The process was intensely challenging — and it truly put students in charge of their own competition.

After a full day of fierce competition ⚔️, Chief Judge Professor Chien Lien-kuei remarked at the evening's closing awards ceremony that every team had shown exceptional creativity and team spirit 💪 — whatever the results, everyone who dared to challenge themselves is a winner. The most exciting news was also announced: the top three teams of this year's event will earn the right to represent Asia 🚀 at the KidWind World Challenge in Houston, USA 🇺🇸 next May!

Please join us in a resounding round of applause 👏 to congratulate all the winning teams 🎉:
