Reaching new heights in green energy competition! Hosted by the Asia-Pacific Energy Science Education Association (AESEA), the flagship event—"2026 KidWind Central Regional Preliminary"—has officially kicked off with immense enthusiasm! The Central Region has always been KidWind's earliest and most densely populated hub in Taiwan. This event not only attracted numerous top-tier teams to compete on the same stage but also witnessed the birth of the highest power generation record across all three regional events this year, fully showcasing the infinite potential of central Taiwan's students in green technology!
The Central Regional garnered significant attention from industry, government, and academia, with many distinguished guests in attendance. Director Huang Wen-shan of the National Museum of Natural Science personally attended to explain the importance of energy transition and encouraged young competitors to keep exploring the mysteries of green energy. Special Member Liu Pei-jun of the Taichung City Education Bureau expressed high expectations for the participants, while Section Chief Ji Zhong-liang of the Nantou County Education Department inspiringly declared his hope that "the next world champion is born among you!" Furthermore, Senior Manager Liu Mei-yu from Ørsted was present to show support, demonstrating the corporate sector's long-term commitment to sustainable education.
The atmosphere at the venue was nothing short of a "clash of titans"! As teams took turns in the wind tunnel, the top 10 on the live scoreboard constantly shuffled. Competitors exhibited exceptional resilience and a strong drive to win, continuously tweaking their blades and drivetrains between tests to squeeze out every drop of efficiency. Excitingly, this Central Regional shattered limits, producing an astonishing score of 83.281 Joules—the highest record across the North, Central, and South preliminaries this year! This is not only the best reward for the students' hard work but also a testament to KidWind's massive impact on cultivating youth engineering skills.
After high-intensity practical challenges and professional judging, the final award list for the Central Region is officially announced. Click the tabs below to view the leaderboard and scores:
